First Exit: Identify your wants, interests and goals
My Wants
Work - students can go directly into the work force with on-the-job training or apprenticeship programs.
Community College - where students can earn an Associate's Degree (2-year degree) in a specific field of study. It can also be a stepping stone to a 4-year college or university. Technical or Trade School - programs at these schools may range from 6-months to 18- or even 24-months to earn the certification and/or learn the skills necessary to perform a specific job. 4-year College or University - where students can earn a Bachelor's Degree (typically takes 4 years to complete) that prepares them for any number of career choices. A Bachelor's Degree is required for a Master's or Doctoral program of study. Military - there are 5 branches: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, & Coast Guard. After serving, some soldiers choose to proceed with education and training at a college or university, funded by the United States Military. |
